Maroela Satellite Camp (Kruger)

We visited this camp in the middle of winter for 5 nights.

If you’re looking for a peaceful bush experience look no further, the ablution facilities were up to scratch, they provide freezers and boiling water on tap, as well as electrical cookers for you to prepare meals on, all very neat.

The camp was never crowded.

You get to camp right next to the fence and you can expect to do some game viewing from your campsite, we managed to see Koedoe, Waterbuck, Hyena, Zebra, Vervet Monkey, Baboon, Squirrel and Civet Cat.

At night you are sure to hear the lions roaring, and the laughter of Hyenas as well as the call of night owls, and Jackals.

The only thing that was lacking is the variety of game-drive routes; the selection is a bit narrowed down by the camp being so close to the park’s border.

All in all we enjoyed it very much!
